Blacksmith anvil with horn at one end , a cutoff hardie in the round hole and another square hole for holding other blacksmith tools.

The blacksmith used the anvil for pounding, shaping, bending, and cutting pieces of molten steel. Skilled blacksmiths could keep a rhythm as the hammer hit the molten steel and the top of the anvil.
